Biography
Sarah Harper is a Canadian citizen who completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria before undertaking a Master’s degree in Marine Resource Development and Protection from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her Master’s research was in collaboration with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, and focused on marine habitat mapping to improve fisheries management in the Las Perlas Archipelago, Pacific Panama.
Since joining the Sea Around Us project as a Research Assistant in April 2009, she has been working on reconstructing global fisheries catches. Sarah assists in coordinating the catch reconstruction work, and providing guidance and technical support to research assistants, interns and volunteers with the project.
